6‧25참전 유격군과 국가보훈 = Pro-South Korean Guerrilla Units' Participation in Korean War in North Korean Area and National Patriots and Veterans Affairs

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

During Korean War, pro-South Korean Guerrilla Units, which carried out military operations in North Korean areas, had a great contribution against the communist forces for the protection of democracy. In this regard, their members were ‘6.25 voluntary soldiers’ and ‘freedom voluntary soldiers.’ Nevertheless, the evaluation of their contribution has been neglected until now. The main reason is that most of the studies on Korean War has been focused on the analysis of the background of the war or regular armies, even though specific data related to the activities of pro-South Korean Guerrilla Units is insufficient. Such trends were similar in the area of ​​the national Veterans. By considering sacrifices and achievements of pro-South Korean Guerrilla Units in the fate of our Republic of Korea, the reasonable compensation should be given to their members in terms of national patriots & veterans affairs. Nevertheless, they are, regrettably, difficult to receive fair compensation, because of the lack of their activity records. This study, first of all, looks at the activities of pro-South Korean Guerrilla Units. And then, In examining the correlation of the national patriots & veterans Affairs and the spirit of pro-South Korean Guerrilla Units, it analyses the significance and functions of national patriots and veterans Affairs, the importance of spiritual combat power against North Korea's threats, guerrilla spirit of pro-South Korean Guerrilla Units as the key mechanism of the national patriots & veterans Affairs.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

북한지역에서 활동한 6.25참전 유격군은 공산세력에 맞서 자유민주주의의 수호를 위해 뚜렷한 족적을 남겼다. 이 점에서 6.25참전 유격대원들은 역사적으로 의병의 전통을 이어받은 ‘6.25의병’이었고, ‘자유의병’이었다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 유격군의 공헌에 대한 평가는 지금까지 소홀히 다루어져 온 것이 사실이다. 그 주된 이유는 유격군 활동과 관련한 구체적인 자료가 미비했던 탓도 있겠지만, 6.25전쟁사와 관련한 연구가 대부분 전쟁배경이나 정규군에 대한 분석에 치중해 왔기 때문이다. 유격군에 대한 이 같은 경향은 국가보훈 영역에서도 비슷한 양상이었음을 부인하기 어렵다. 우리 대한민국의 운명에 중차대한 역할을 한 유격군의 희생과 공적에 대해 국가보훈 차원에서 합당한 보상이 이루어져야 하는 것은 당연한 일이 아닐 수 없다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 유격군에 대한 활동기록의 미비가 정당한 보상을 어렵게 하고 있는데 안타까운 일이 아닐 수 없다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 6.25참전 유격군의 활약을 살펴본 다음, 국가보훈과 유격군 정신의 상관관계를 살펴봄에 있어서 국가보훈의 의의와 기능, 북한의 위협에 대비한 정신전력의 중요성, 국가보훈의 핵심기제로서의 유격군 정신 등을 분석하고 있다.
