신물질론과 포스트-휴먼 기획 : ― 여성주의 물질론을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

근대 및 탈근대 사회구성주의가 공유해온 인간주의적 주체 관념과 자연/문화, 재현/물질 이원론을 넘어 물질성에 근거한 ‘포스트-휴먼 주체’로 ‘변신’을 사고할 계기를 제공하는 신물질론의 기초를 확인한다. 신물질론은 탈근대주의 ‘포스트’ 구성주의와는 달리 비-토대주의도 비-상대주의도 아닌 제3공간에서 변신의 형태학(morphology)을 탐색한다. 여기에 존재론적인 잠재적 ‘정동’의 능력이 작용하는 관계성의 권력 모델을 강조한 들뢰즈와 가타리의 ‘정동적전환’(affective turn)을 계승하여 성적 차이를 넘어 평등을 실현하는 확장된 젠더 이론을 모색한 여성주의 물질론의 역할이 중요하다. 다나 해러웨이의 물질론적 여성주의를 선두로, 사회적 구성보다는 사회적 생산에서 ‘행위자적 물질’의 상호작용을 강조한 카렌 바라드의 존재-인식론, 로지 브라이
도티의 실재론적 존재론과 포스트-휴먼 개념, 마누엘 데란다의 사회의 조직 및 배치물 이론은 기호와 물질, 담론성과 물질성을 혼종적 일원론으로 사유하며 신물질론의 기초를 제공한다. 그것은 추상적 경험론인 ‘실재론’에 입각하여 물질적 실체와 힘들을 기존 학문 분류방식을 탈영토화하여 ‘살아있는 힘’으로서 물질 뿐 아니라 물질-담론 및 물질-기호를 연결시킨다. 특히 ‘행위자’의 능력, 곧 사회적 세계를 생산하는 행동들을 인간에서 비-인간 및 무생물까지 확장시켜 비-일선적 방식으로 연결하고 관계들을 배치한 장소의 지형도(topography) 생성을 촉구한다. 변화하는 세계에서 상호
영향을 끼치는 물질적인 것과 사회적인 요소의 상호작용을 인정하고 미시적 행위자의 경험의 배치물에 초점을 두는 신물질론은, 4차 산업혁명론의 특징인 혼종적 물질성과 연관 가능성을 시론 할 계기를 제공한다.
