강원ㆍ제주 장수지역의 제조업 생산 연계와 혁신 네트워크의 공간적 특성 = Spatial Characteristics of Manufacturing Production and Innovation Networks of the Long-live Area of Gangwon and Jeju

국문 초록 (Abstract)

농촌장수지역인 강원ㆍ제주를 대상으로 제조업체의 생산 및 혁신네트워크를 분석하여 지식정보화 시대의 이상적인 고령사회에 대비한 새로운 농촌지역 발전모델을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 강원·제주 장수지역은 호남농촌의 장수지역 및 호남도시 중 광주ㆍ전주 지역과 비교하였다. 연구 결과, 제조업은 생산연계에 있어 원료구입의 지역내 공간적ㆍ산업적 연계 성향이 강할수록, 노동력이용의 지역내 연계 성향이 강할수록 활성화되는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 혁신네트워크는 공간적 측면에서 제조업체 입지지역 및 지방과 국가간 네트워크가 원활하고 지속적으로 이루어질 때, 협력주체의 측면에서 기업 및 연구기관뿐만 아니라 지자체와 국가지원등의 다양한 네트워크가 지속적으로 이루어질 때 보다 강화되는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 미래 농촌의 새로운 지역발전모델은 지역 자체의 자원을 이용하여 지역 내부의 혁신 역량을 키우는 측면에서 접근해야 하고, 이를 위해 지역내부연계와 더불어 가상혁신클러스터라 할 수 있는 지역외부연계가 종합적으로 구축되어야 함을 알 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to analyze production and innovation networks of manufacturers in the rural, long-live areas of GangwonㆍJeju and to suggest an ideal regional development model of rural areas in the knowledge-based information age. For this purpose, we compared the areas of GangwonㆍJeju with the long-live belt areas in the rural part of the Homan region and GwangjuㆍJeonju, the urban part of Honam. The findings from the study are summarized as follows. Firstly, the stronger the local networks in terms of supply of the necessary input materials and labor, the more successful the manufacturing industry is in the given area. Secondly, the more diverse and lasting the networks (in terms of the location of manufacturers, local area and national area) and cooperation agents(businesses, research institutions, the local government, the central government) they have, the more prosperous the manufacturing industry is. These results indicate that the successful development model for rural areas requires that we take the approach of fostering potential innovation capabilities of local areas by fully utilizing their innate resources so as to create an internal cooperative network and further build extensive networks encompassing external entities to create a virtual innovation cluster.
