A successful web site means that many people visit frequently, understand easily and enjoy the website. Proper type for organizing information enhances user`s convenience and interest in web sites. At last, the type of organizing information will be a key role in becoming a successful website. So the objective of this study is the analysis about the types of organizing information for a successful web site. A method to classify structure types such as hierarchy, mixed and nonlinear types is used in this analysis of 50 web sites. 50 sample web sites for this analysis are municipal governments(24), tourism authority(1), tour association(1), and CVBs(24). They consist of Korea(15), Japan(5), HongKong(1), Thailand(1), USA(24), Canada(1), Germany(1), France(1), and Netherlands(1). The language of web sites was unified as English for a right analysis. The time period was at Jan. through Feb. in 1999. The Internet was connected through LAN line (l0Mbps) with a Pentium computer (233㎒). The results of this study indicate that the web sites with a large amount of tourism information prefer the mixed type to hierarchy type.
