In this study I`m willing to explain how the organizational culture of tourist hotels of Kyoungju area in pre-IMF period differ from that of IMF period. To find the pattern of organizational culture of these hotels in pre-IMF period, I had already distributed 180 questionaries and got 140 answers in July 1977. And I also distributed 200 questionaries and got 158 answers in December 1988 for the purpose of finding out that during the period of IMF system. To identify the types and major causes of organizational culture, I use factor analysis method to get validity, and use coronbach`s alpha coefficient to get reliablity. To compare the difference between organizational culture under pre-IMF period and that under IMF system, I use the One-way Anova and SPSS/WIN 7.5 in data processing. The changed pattern of organizational culture of these tourist hotels are as follows: under the pre-IMF system, the ranking of the strength of its perception is human-oriented, goal-oriented, role-oriented, and power-oriented culture: under IMF system, the ranking of the strength of its perception is human-oriented, goal-oriented, role-oriented, power-oriented culture; especially perception strength of role-oriented culture is prior to that of power-oriented culture. As a empirical research, I found out that the pattern of organizational culture has being positively changed. I expect that my essay will give empirical data necessary to study the project capable of improving healthy organizational culture of tourist hotels in Kyoung area and other areas.
