초보 집단상담자의 집단상담 공동지도 경험에 관한 질적 연구 = A Qualitative Study on the Experiences of the Novice Group Counselor as a Co-leader of Group Counseling

This study was conducted to explore the experiences of the novice group counselor as a co-leader of group counseling and to understand how they perceive those experiences for their development as group therapists as well as self growth. 11 novice group therapists were selected based on the purposeful sampling method. They co-led semi-structured groups for undergraduate students as graduate students of counseling psychology major and participated in the interviews. Interview transcripts from group counseling experiences were analyzed along with participants' journal reports, final reports and researcher's field notes by using the Constant Comparative Analysis method. The results revealed a central concept- Walking a tightrope with the co-leader to go one step further after realizing the attraction of group counseling, 4 categories and 10 themes. Four categories include (1) co-leadership is a small supervision, (2) three-legged race for group therapy, (3) efforts for co-leader relationship, and (4) growing and accomplishing as a person. Based on the results, implications of the group counseling co-leadership model for the development of group therapist and the training of novice group counselor and suggestions for future study were proposed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초보 집단상담자의 집단상담 공동지도 경험을 탐색함으로써 집단상담 공동지도 모델이 초보 집단상담자가 집단상담자로서 성장하고 발달하는 데 어떤 의미로 인식되는지 심층적으로 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 상담심리 전공 대학원생들로, 반구조화 형태의 대학생 대상 집단상담을 공동지도자와 짝을 이루어 운영한 초보 집단상담자들을 편의 표집 하였다. 연구 참여에 동의한 총 11명의 참여자와 1～2회의 심층면담을 실시한 후 녹음한 자료를 전사하고, 참여자의 집단상담 경험에 관한 회기보고서, 최종보고서, 연구자의 현장 노트를 수집하여 지속적 비교분석 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 초보 집단상담자의 공동지도 경험은 ‘공동지도라는 줄타기를 통해 집단상담의 매력을 깨닫고 집단상담자가 되는 길에 한 발 내딛기’라는 핵심범주 하에 총 4개의 범주, (1) 공동지도는 작은 슈퍼비전, (2) 집단운영을 위한 이인삼각, (3) 공동지도 관계를 위한 노력, (4) 인간적인 성장과 성취감, 그리고 10개의 주제로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 토대로 집단상담 공동지도 모델이 집단상담자의 발달 및 초보 집단상담자 교육에 시사하는 바를 논의하고 후속연구를 제안하였다.
