This study aimed to examine the dietary patterns of Chinese entrants and residents in Daejeon during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a particular focus on the impact of quarantine experiences on nutritional intake and dietary behavior. The study population was divided into two groups: newly arrived Chinese individuals who underwent mandatory quarantine and Chinese residents who had been living in Daejeon without quarantine experience.
A structured questionnaire survey was conducted between March and December 2021, and a total of 279 valid responses were collected, including 169 from quarantined entrants and 110 from non-quarantined residents. The questionnaire covered sociodemographic characteristics, dietary frequency, food sources, eating habits, and perceived health status. Statistical analyses were performed using chi-square tests and independent t-tests to identify differences between the two groups.
