Crowned dens syndrome (CDS) is a disease in which calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate crystals were accumulated around the odontoid process. Patients with Crowned dens syndrome usually present with severe neck pain, fever, and headache. Because of these symptoms, it is easy to be misdiagnosed as meningitis. We report this because we have experienced it.
