언어문화를 활용한 ‘경주’의 이미지 제고 방안 = Measure for the Promotion of the Image of Gyeongju Utilizing Language Culture

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to propose the discovery and utilization of language culture data related to place names and people s names about ‘Gyeongju for the promotion of the image of the Gyeongju city.
Gyeongju is a millennial ancient city of Silla and city of culture and tourism. And yet, recently, affected by Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant and radioactive waste disposal facilities located in Gyeongju, its image as a nuclear city came to the fore, and since September 2016 when a strong earthquake broke out, its image as an earthquake city was on the rise. Accordingly, Gyeongjus images of culture and tourism suffered a great blow. This study proposes the utilization of language cultural resources from the position that it is necessary to restore Gyeongju s unique image of cultural tourism, and the above discussions can be summarized as follows: First, it is noted that the native word for Hyeokgeose( ) is Balgeo(geu)nae( ( ) ) as a record of a persons name in the language cultural resources of Gyeongju and that for Alji( ) is Agi( ). Accordingly, this study argued that it would be necessary to recover these as cultural resources. In addition, it is noted that that for Alyeong( ) or Ariyeong( ) is Alla (Eolla)( ( )). it is necessary to revive and write the names Balgeo(geu)nae and Agi or Alla (Eolla) in the present materials of Gyeongju culture and tourism and utilize them as culture content materials.
Second, it seems through the records of place names in native words that the name of Gyeongju, Sorabol( ) is used often. And yet, Mobeol( ) or Abul( ) is little used. Also, for the name of Alcheon( ), it is necessary to revive and use Arinae( ) or Allanae/ Eollanae( / ), and Ipchen( ), too, it is necessary to revive and write Sumonae( ) to utilize the language culture materials.
This study is just a comment to suggest that the language cultural resources of Gyeongju should be made into cultural contents based on the native words mentioned in numerous previous studies.
Since a lot of native words are discovered, it is expected that utilizing these will further promote the image of Gyeongju city.
