      This study aimed to explore how sport-related leisure activities contribute to Korean students` acculturation process in the United State. Three 3rd grade Korean students who lived at the small city in the Southern United States participated in this study. Phenomenology, a qualitative research methodology, was employed to understand participants` own perspective on their acculturation process. The major data collection method included interviews and non-participant observation. The data were analyzed through phenomenological analysis process. Based on Berry`s(2006) acculturation theory, the researchers divided the findings of this study into 4 different acculturation strategies, that is, assimilation, separation, integration and margination. First, the main strategy the participants used for acculturation was assimilation. The participants perceived that the nature of sport-related leisure activities provided them with an opportunity to acquire English language skills. Also, those settings were the place they could make friends, and thereby decrease their acculturative stress. Second, separation opposite to assimilation means that the participants maintain their own cultural value and behaviors. Due to the lack of English language skill, the participants used to interact with other Korean students rather than American students at the early stage of acculturation in sport-related leisure activities. However, as they adjusted themselves to American lifestyle, their strategy had been changed from separation to assimilation. Third, the participants in this study did not show their use of integration and margination strategy because they hardly experienced the ultimate change in their belief or identity with a short-term living in the United States.
