    The vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) is a very useful tool for researchers who study motor learning and memory because of its various strengths. For this reason, we recently developed a PC-based eye tracking system for measuring VOR in mice. To test the reliability of the system and have knowledge of dynamic characteristics in response to vesibular and optical stimulus in mice, the VOR, optokinetic response (OKR), and their interaction were investigated in the mouse using video oculography technique.We used 7 week-old C57BL/6 male mice for this test. Behavioral test was operated using self-designed turn-table machine. The dark vestibulo-ocular reflex (dVOR) and light vesibulo-ocular reflex (lVOR) were induced by sinusoidal rotation of a turntable, in darkness and in light, respectively, by 5° (peak to peak) at 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 Hz. The OKR was induced by sinusoidal rotation of a dot-patterned screen by same amplitude over the tested frequency range. The gain and phase of the response were calculated from the acquired data by using customized analysis tool written by LabVIEW. Gain is defined as the ratio of output to input, that is, ratio of eye velocity to table velocity, or head velocity. Phase is defined as the time gap between two peak points of eye and head movement.The response of the dVOR showed a higher gain and smaller phase lead as stimulus velocity increased. The response of the lVOR was nearly constant gain and phase over whole frequency range we tested. The response of the OKR revealed a lower gain and bigger phase lag when stimulus velocity increased. We also induced VOR learning and observed the increase of gain which was lasted for 7 hours. We successfully measured the horizontal eye movement during vestibular and optical stimuli in C57BL/6 mice, and These results were consistent with findings from literature.
