사회통합을 위한 연대적 공존의 모색

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 사회에 나타나는 복합적인 사회 갈등을 조정하고 사회통합을 증진시키기 위해서는 개인의 자유와 공동체 의식의 조화를 실현할 수 있는 ‘시민적 연대(civic solidarity)’의 형성이 필요하다는 문제의식에서 출발한다. 민주화 이후 한국 사회에서 나타나고 있는 사회적 갈등의 급격한 증가는 새로운 갈등조정 메커니즘의 창출을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 메커니즘은 개인이나 집단 간의 갈등을 제도 내로 끌어들일 수 있는 정치적 조건과, 갈등을 민주적 방식으로 풀어내고자 하는 시민적 덕성이 형성되었을 때 창출될 수 있다. 이에 따라 ‘시민적 연대’는 한국 사회가 직면하고 있는 중요한 정치사회적 과제이다. ‘시민적 연대’란 자유롭고 평등한 시민들 사이의 연대를 의미한다. 본 연구에서는 학제적 협력연구를 통하여 한국적인 시민적 연대 모델을 형성할 수 있는 사회적, 경제적, 정치적 조건을 모색한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Launched in September 2010, Social Science Korea Civic Solidarity Research Group seeks to put forward a regulative ideal with empirical support on which a new paradigm for socio-political and economic conflict resolution can be realized. In the first three-year period, the Group is devoted to find the locus of various collective commonalities in bridging a gap between individuals as well as groups in a society, to promote the actualization of civic trust in democracy, and to examine the communicability of ‘civic solidarity’ in the rapidly changing global environment. We hope for a scholarly deliberation, encompassing diverse theoretical and practical experiences. At the same time, we wish to have sustainable researches to help create civic solidarity without conflicting with multicultural coexistence at the domestic level as well as the global level.
