코로나19로 인한 부정적 변화와 자존감, 인터넷 중독의 관계 : 20, 30대 청년을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 청년의 코로나19로 인한 부정적 변화가 인터넷 중독에 미치는 영향과 자존감의 매개효과 검증을 목적으로 하였다. 연구가설 검증을 위해 20, 30대 남녀 총 762명을 대상으 로 2020년 8월 28일부터 9월 18일까지 총 3주간 온라인 조사를 통해 구축한 한국사회 20~30대 청년층의 신체적, 정신적 건강과 4대 중독의 실태조사 원자료 일부를 활용하였다. 자료는 Stata 15를 이용하여 구조방정식 분석방법으로 분석되었다. 그 결과 첫째, 20, 30대 청년의 코로나19로 인한 부정적 변화가 인터넷 중독에는 정적으로, 자존감에는 부적으로 유 의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 20, 30대 청년의 자존감은 인터넷 중독에 부적으로 유의한 영향 을 미쳤다. 셋째, 20, 30대 청년의 코로나 19로 인한 부정적 변화와 인터넷 중독 간의 관계에 서 자존감의 부분매개효과가 확인되었다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 코로나19 팬데믹이라는 시대 적 상황 속에서 20, 30대 청년 대상 부정적 변화에 대한 사회적 관심의 필요성과 자존감 향상 을 위한 사회적 개입을 통한 인터넷 중독 예방책 마련이 시급함을 시사하는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to verify the negative changes on the youth due to COVID-19 on internet addiction and the mediating effect of self-esteem. To verify the research hypothesis, the study partly utilized an online survey on the physical and mental health and the four major addictions, conducted by a total of 762 men and women in their 20s and 30s. The data was analyzed using Stata 15 and structural equation analysis method. First, the negative changes caused by COVID-19 in youth had a positively significant effect on internet addiction and negatively significant effect on their self-esteem. Second, the self-esteem of youths had a negatively significant effect on Internet addiction. Third, a partial mediating effect of self-esteem was confirmed in the relationship between internet addiction and the negative changes caused by COVID-19 on youth. These findings of the study suggest that in the context of the Covid 19 pandemic, there is a need for social attention to negative changes for youth in their 20s and 30s, and the urgent need to prepare measures to prevent internet addiction through social intervention to improve self-esteem.
