다층잠재변인회귀모형을 적용한 고등학교 학교효과 추정 및 효과적인 학교 특성 분석 = Evaluating school effectiveness with the Multilevel Latent Variable Regression Model based on National Assessment of Educational Achievement

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 시․도교육청 평가 및 일부 시․도교육청의 학교평가에 활용되는 국가수준 학업성취도 평가 고등학교 전수자료를 바탕으로 다층잠재변인회귀모형을 적용하여 학교평균 및 향상도 기준 학교효과를 산출하고, 효과적인 학교의 특성을 분석하여 이후 학업성취도 평가의 실시 및 학교평가를 위한 정책적 시사점을 도출하였다. 구체적으로 학업성취도 관련 요인 중에서 학생성별이나 가정환경, 사교육 여부 등의 학생 배경변인과 중식지원 비율, 기간제교사 비율 등의 학교의 경제적 여건을 고려했을 때 기대되는 성취도와 실제 성취도의 차이를 학교효과로 정의하고, 학교별 성취도 평균와 향상도를 기준으로 학교효과를 추정하였다. 이때 초기의 성취수준이 향상도에 영향을 미치는 천장 효과 또는 바닥효과를 통제하고 초기상태가 동일한 학교들을 비교하기 위하여 다층잠재 변인회귀모형을 적용하였다. 그리고 효과적인 학교의 특성을 분석하기 위하여 학교효과에 영향을 미치는 학교의 특성변인에 대한 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 마지막으로 연구결과를 토대로 추후 국가수준 학업성취도 평가를 시행하고, 이를 활용하여 학교 책무성을 평가하는데 있어서의 정책적 시사점을 서술하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study applied the Multilevel Latent Variable Model to evaluate school effectiveness of Korean high schools using 2009-2010 National Assessment of Educational Achievement(NAEA) and analyzed the characteristics of effective schools. School effectiveness was estimated with different models in terms of value-added school means and growth rates. The Multilevel Latent Variable Model was used to adjust for initial status of each school in estimating growth rates along with student- and schoolbackground variables affecting the scores. After then, various school conditions and process variables relevant to school effectiveness were explored to find school environment that maximizes school effectiveness. Some recommendations for school accountability system were made based on these findings.
