      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      Women's studies in educatiom is a new field in our country. Despite the signigicant progress in Chinese women,s education, there are still some problems in girls and women's education. This paper tries to explore the gender inequality within education, which includes: in textbooks and materials, the teachers' guides to different gender students, parents' different expectations of their girls and boys, how communication moulds different gender behaviors and the influence of public media. All these unequal factors have made girl students become more passive, become the marginal group in school learning. Today sexual discrimination in school learning will pbstruct women's participation in various aspects of social lives (political, economic, culture, family and so on.)
      With the teaching experience of offering the course of "Women And Education," the author provides some thinking and practical suggestions to eliminate gender stereotypes in education:
      1. To offer a series of courses about gender equality for pre-teacher and in-service training in various educational institutes. "Gender Equality" should be taken as a basic principle and idea of modernization of education.
      2. To eliminate gender stereotypes in textbooks and teaching materials. To promote more female teachers and female experts to participate in writing and editing the textbooks and teaching materials with a gender perspective.
      3. To strengthen the research of women's education with feminist perspective nation wide.
      4. To strengthen international cooperation of research and work of women's education, especially in developing countries and Asian areas.
