The aim of this study is to suggest a design proposal for the restoration of Suwon Youngdong Market which is located near Paldalmoon. It is expected that the potential of the Market would be enhanced greatly due to the increase of tourists followed by the progress of Hwaseong Restoration Program. To make the Market as a major node of tourist network, a design proposal arranging shops and circulations based on two hyper-plazas is suggested. The two plazas which has to be sunken due to the height limitation and the amount of space to be accommodated is designed to pulls pedestrians into the market and induce them to go around the market following floating pathways. The two hyper-plazas characterized by their dynamic spaces plays a key role as a landmark in the tourist pathway and also as a community center of Youngdong Market and the vicinity area.
