This study aims to propose user experience (UX) scenarios to improve public transportation by leveraging smart mobility technologies. Smart mobility refers to a new mode of transportation that integrates advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, and autonomous driving. It holds the potential to enhance the efficiency and convenience of transportation services while complementing existing public transit systems. Especially in the current context of rapid urbanization and increasing traffic congestion, the integration of smart mobility into public transportation is emerging as a critical necessity.
To identify the shortcomings of current public transportation services, this study analyzed the behavior and satisfaction levels of domestic public transportation users. Through user research, key pain points and user demands during the transit process were identified. Based on this analysis, a total of nine key insights were derived, which informed the development of smart mobility-based UX scenarios for public transportation.
The proposed UX scenarios focus on delivering user-centered experiences and include specific improvement strategies such as enhancing accessibility for transportation-vulnerable groups, providing real-time information, and alleviating public transit congestion. This study aims to contribute to the advancement of public transportation and the enhancement of user satisfaction by presenting a future direction for public transit services through the application of smart mobility technologies.
