The aim of this study is to examine the theories of language acqisition and the impact of experience in child language acquisition.
In the theories of language acquisition, the three major theories, i. e. behaviorism, rationalism, and empiricism, have been discussed. In the study of child language acquisition and development, phonological development and syntactical development have been dealt with. Also, period, content, and method of syntactic acquisition have been stated.
Experience has a significant impact on the development of language acquisition. Children process language sementically by relating the input to their own experience. Although some researchers claim that there is a natural order of language acquisition based on children's experiences of finding better and better ways of expressing meaning. Mothers are excellent providers of experience in the form of comprehensible input.
