      Osteoporosis is a systemic disease characterized by low bone mass and microarchetectural deterioration of bone tissue of fracture. It is affecting up to 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men over the age 50years which clearly establishes osteoporosis as a major public health care concern. Bone mineral density is influenced by genetic, biologic, and environmental factors, including genetics, smoking history, calcium and vitamin D levels, hormonal changes, sun exposure, and physical exercise. Exercise is often overlooked as an important factor for regulating bone mineral density. Different exercise types load the bone in different ways and it has been convincingly that adaptations occur only at site that are stressed. Impact training like jump, weight bearing exercise and resistance exercise have shown increases in bone mass density of the axial and appendicular skeleton. Osteoporosis patients should be given lifestyle advice regarding dietary intake of calcium and vitamin D and regular weight-bearing exercise.

      Osteoporosis is a systemic disease characterized by low bone mass and microarchetectural deterioration of bone tissue of fracture. It is affecting up to 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men over the age 50years which clearly establishes osteoporosis as a major public health care concern.
