This study investigates the production characteristics of biochar from a mixture
of cattle manure and rice bran. Nine biochar samples were prepared by carbonizing
at three temperatures (350, 400, and 450℃) and three residence times (20, 30, and
40 min), and compared against the raw material. Energy consumption was evaluated
by measuring moisture loss and power input during carbonization. The produced
biochars were characterized in terms of particle size distribution and chemical
composition. Results indicate that carbonizing at 350 °C for 30 min yields
biochar with high organic matter content, low moisture, and relatively low energy
consumption, making it an economical fertilizer for agricultural use.
