Drosophilid survey of two islands in the South Sea of Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

1. 著者는 1960年 7月 19日부터 7月 26日까지의 本生物學科 夏季採集會의 機會를 利用하여 莞島의 2個處 卽 珠島와 象皇峰과 南海의 錦山에서 복숭아의 trapping과 sweeping으로 초파리科 昆蟲을 採集한 結果는 莞島에서 3屬 12種 175個體와 南海島에서 4屬 15種 398個體였다.
2. 比較的 多數 採集된 種類는 莞島에서 D. (D.) bizonata, D. (S.) aruaria D. (S.) rufa였었고, 南海島에서는 M. (I.) congesta, D. (S.) auraria, D. (S.) suzukii, D. (D.) immigrans, D. (D.) lacertosa였었다. D. (S.) auraria 3型中 C型이 越等採集되고 B型이 전혀 또는 若干 採集된 것은 注目할 일이다. 莞島에서는 Amiota屬, Leucophenga屬, Mycodrosophila屬 昆蟲과 南海島에서는 Amiota屬과 Mycodrosophila屬 昆蟲이 採集 안되었다. 兩島의 生態的 條件으로 因하여 fungus feeder가 貪困하고 一般的으로 兩島다같이 초파리 分布相이 貪困하다고 볼 수 있다.
3. M. (I.) sp-1과 M. (I.) sp.-2는 各各 象皇峰과 南海의 錦山에서 採集되었는데 이것은 新種인듯 생각된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Collections of drosophilid flies were undertaken at Mt. Sang-Whang and Joo Is. of Wan Is. and Mt. Keum of Nam-Hai Is. from 19th to 26th, July, 1960 by fruit trapping and sweeping, resulting in the capture of a total of 175 flies involving 3 genera, 12 species in Wan Is. and 398 flies involving 4 genera, 15 species in Nam-Hai Is.
Among them the following species were found to be abundant in occurance: D. (D.) bizonata, D. (S.) auraria, D. (S.) rufa in Wan Is.; M. (I.) congester, D. (S.) auraria, D. (S.) suzukii, D. (D.) immigrans and D. (D.) lacertosa in Nam-Hai Island.
It is noteworthy that Type-C of D. (S.) auraria was captured more abundantly than Type-A of it and a few or none of Type-B of it was collected in the present collection. A few or none of species belonging to Genera Amiota, Leucophenga, Mycodrosophila were found in the present collection.
Generally specking, drosophilid fauna of both Islands are poor, perhaps due to their ecological conditions. M. (I.) sp.-1 M. (I.) sp.-2 seems to be new to science, their general features were given.
