한국의 민주화와 사회적 자본

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper analyzes trend and characteristic of social capital in Korea, after democracy transition. The paper explores the connection between democracy and social capital by analysing of official statical data. Social capital is defined as features of social organization such as networks, norms, and social trust that facilitate coordination and cooperation within or among group. The term social capital describes important social process and relationship but also aspects of democracy, local development, voluntary partnerships and civic spirit. This analysis has found several pattern and mechanism of social capital. First, component of social capital is formed various complex types, such as low formal trust, stable reciprocal norms, and high civil participation. Second, I can see that social capital after democratization has been positive related to development of civil society. Third, the social capital is possible to develop new civil participation pattern for enlargement of networks of cooperation between citizen and government, so called good governance.
