『子平眞詮』의 行運 豫測 理論과 臨床에 관한 硏究 : 格局을 中心으로

The analytical method using the types of fortune suggested by 『 子平眞銓』 is useful to interpretate the ‘SAJU (4 pillars of destiny)’, as this method gives the standardized logic that based on ‘Yin-Yang and Five elemental theory’, the root of oriental philosophy. This thesis investigates the pros and cons of fortune prediction method of which suggests the 8 representative classes of fortune, and compares the predictions using this method with real events. To get the clear definition of fate and fortune, and their role and effect, the history of ‘SAJU’ theory contained in various text such as 『 淵海子平』, 『三命通會』,『命理約言』,『滴天髓』 and 『子平眞詮』 is reviewed.

The standardized concept of fate (命) and fortune (運) was come from 『子平眞詮』. Based on this text the types of fortune can be classified as 8 major types and other minor types. Fate is static and internal element of destiny, and Fortune is dynamic and environmental condition of destiny. It is preferable to get the good fortune than good fate. 『子平眞詮』 emphasis on 8 major type of fortune. This is macroscopic method and seems to be too simplified to examine the change of fortune that is very fickle. However using the unstandardized method to get the precise result is rather contrived, and the reliability is further undermined by arbitrary interpretation of ‘SAJU’.

200 cases are reviewed using the ‘flow of fortune’ prediction method discoursed in 『子平眞詮』. The cases are classified in 7 categories; joining a big company, being a teacher, opening one’s own business, marriage, divorce, promotion of position in a company, retirement or layoff. The prediction result only shows the probability of existence and occurrence. It is not possible to get the 100% reliable results for every case but to get the tendency and pattern of fortune.
This thesis suggest that the ‘flow of fortune’discoursed in 『子平眞詮』could be used to understand the inclination of one’s or a group’s temper and/or behavior. It is not desirable to use the ‘SAJU’ only to know the one’s future that would be determined by self-discipline and the condition of environment where the one get involved.

‘SAJU’ is not a kind of superstition but a kind of traditional culture that gives the wisdom to guide the attitude toward one’s fortune and fate.
