王士禎 作詞上의 七絶慣技 = Qijue-Guanji Concerning Wang Shizhen’s Ci Composition

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

While Wang Shizhen’s Ci was known for its excellent Fengyun, its composition technique was actually utilized habitually in his Qijue, according to the assessment of late Qing dynasty’s Chen Tingzhuo. This research intends to confirm the validity of Chen’s assessment. Through this research, several traits of Wang’s Ci composition were identified, such as his strong pursuit of Shenyun, displaying fierce attachment toward landscapes of nature, and utilizing authentic precedents for the expansion of Yijing, all which are confirmed phenomena in Wang’s own Qijue. Using poetry verse-making techniques and applying them in his Ci composition meant that Wang’s Ci writing skills had yet to reach the level of a professional Ci writer. However, on the other hand, one cannot deny the positive effects of Wang’s efforts, which helped enflame the Ci writing passion of other writers during the early Qing era when Ci composition had yet to become universalized.
