가정 혹은 교회? -대화의 기도에 영향을 끼친 요인에 대한 연구 = Family or Church? -A Study of the Factors Influencing Dialogical Prayer

This research is the follow-up study after Kim (2012) researched onthe possibility of dialogical prayer conducted in California in 2010 with23 students aged 9~12 years old students. That research resulted thatthe students are able to have a conversation (dialogue) with God in theirprayer. This research conducted in Seoul, Korea with 59 students aged9~12 years old in three Presbyterian Churches. The research questionsare as follow: First, what are the concept of prayer and dialogicalprayer among 9 to 12 years old students? Second, Do 9 to 12 years oldstudents have the experience of dialogical prayer?, Third, What are thefactors influencing dialogical prayer?Through this research, the results are almost same as the result ofproceeding research conducted by Klingburg, Cole, and Kim that childrenare able to experience dialogical prayer but one thing new is the way ofcommunicating. This time one student says that when prayer, God gavehim some great thought to solve the problem. That is not found in thepreceeding results. Another interesting result in this research is thatthe most influencing factor is “family” and “by themselves” as the samerate. This means children learn dialogical prayer by themselves. Thiscan imply that we, Christian educators, should be aware of the timethat God is working in children’s lives through dialogical prayer andthat to lead the children not to be misled due the lack of correct knowledge. Therefore, we, Christian educators, should be encouraged to producethe teaching material or practice tips on dialogical prayer with thenecessary discernment booklets so that children are able to experiencethe intimacy with God in their prayer.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 김영주(2012)가 미국 캘리포니아에서 9세~12세의 어린이23명을 대상으로 기독교 교육에 있어서 대화의 기도 가능성이 있는지 연구 한 후, 가능하다는 연구 결과에따라, 좀 더 심도 있는 질문으로 어린이들과의 면담을 한 질적 연구 보고서로써, 한국 서울의 장로교(통합)교회 중 세 개의 주일학교에서 실시되어졌다. 만 9세~12세 어린이들 59명을(남30; 여29)대상으로 대화의 기도에 영향을 끼친 요인이 무엇인지에 대한 인터뷰를중점적으로 실시하였으며, 대화의 기도에 대한 일반적인 질문도 하여 어린이들의 대화의기도에 대한 이해가 어느 정도 되는지 파악하였다. 연구 질문은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 9세~12세 어린이들이 기도에 대한 개념과 대화의 기도에 대한 개념을 어떻게 가지고 있는가? 둘째, 9세~12세 어린이들이 대화의 기도에 대한 경험이 있는가? 셋째, 9세~12세 어린이들의 대화의 기도에 영향을 끼친 요소는 무엇인가?이 연구를 통하여, 어린이들은 선행연구인, 클링버그, 콜, 김영주가 연구한 결과와 같이대화의 기도가 가능하며, 또 대화의 기도를 하고 있는 것으로 결과가 나왔으며, 대화를 주고받는 양상도 서로 흡사하나 한 가지 다른 점은 기도에 대한 대답으로 어떤 생각이 떠오르게해주셨다 라는 것으로 지난 번 연구에서는 밝혀지지 않았던 결과를 얻었다.
대화의 기도에 영향을 끼친 요인 중에서 새로운 것은 어린이들이 “스스로” 하나님과대화하는 것을 알았다는 것으로, 그것은 가장 영향을 많이 받은 “가정” 이란 장과 비율이동등함으로, 어린이들이 아무도 가르쳐주는 사람 없이 대화의 기도에 대한 잘못된 지식에 빠지기 전에 기독교교육가들이 대화의 기도를 가르쳐야 하는 시기가 된 것으로 받아들여도 무리가 아닐 것이라 본다. 그러므로 우리는 식별지식과 맞물려 말씀을 통하여 하나님의 성품과 뜻을 알아가는 교육과 하나님의 지혜를 추구하는 교육 또한 많은 신앙의 선조들의 식별 방법이 대화의 기도 교육과 함께 어린이들의 눈높이에 맞추어 실시될 수 있도록 교재와 훈련 프로그램 등이 제작되어야 한다고 제안하고 싶다.
