한국교회 에큐메니칼 신학교육의 과제와 전망 = A Task and Vision of Ecumenical Theological Education in Korea

This article has a great concern for the development of theecumenical theological education in the Korean Christianity. The 10thassembly of WCC in Busan will be a meaningful challenge for both theKorean church and world Christianity in terms of peace, justice andlife. The life threatening consequences of neo liberalistic capital systemand anthropocentrism affect all dimension of creatures' lives in 21stcentury. Since the Edinburgh World Missionary Conference in 1910 hadbeen played as a stepping stone of the birth of World Council ofChurches, including WCC the ecumenical movement has tried toresponse to those social and global problems. In order to continue tothis ecumenical ministry, WCC has insisted the importance of nurturingthe next generation of ecumenical activists. In this article, I introducedthree documents of WCC, and analyzed the theological meanings inthem. I have introduced on ‘Oikos Theological Movement in Korea’ as analternative way of theological education working with faculites andseminarians of 7 Presbyterian seminaries of Presbyterian Chruch ofKorea and Ewha University. Learning and practicing the ecumenicaltheology, history, theological 8 themes, and ecumenical conversation,young Christian seminarians could have an opportunity to see the worldproblems related with Christian gospel and responsibility. Through this writing, I proposed the task of Korean church and Christian educationto transform Korean society and church renewal. Overcoming thelimitations of the Contemporary Korean protestant churches, such asmaterialism, individualism, and expansionism, we need to look closely atthe works and roles of the ecumenical theological education.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 에큐메니칼 신학교육의 중요성을 강조하고 한국교회를 위한 에큐메니칼 신학교육의 과제와 전망을 제안하는 글이다. 지금은 신자유주의 경제체제에서 비롯된 경제위기, 세계의 반생태적 개발로 인한 기후변화, 국가와 인종간 빈부 격차로 인한 인구이동,그리고 종교의 지형변화 등 세계가 당면하고 있는 위기를 극복하기 위하여 기독교회의 세계적 연대가 그 어느 때보다 중요한 시기이다. 세계교회가 위기를 극복하고 함께 연대하기 위해 가장 요구되는 부분 가운데 하나가 신학교육이기 때문에, 연구자는 본 연구를 통해 일차적으로 그동안 WCC로 대표되는 에큐메니칼 운동과 에큐메니칼 진영이 신학교육에 대하여 어떠한 관점을 가지고 있는지를 연구하였다. 구체적으로 WCC가 신학교육에 관하여 작성한 대표적 문서들을 살피고 그 문서에 나타난 신학교육의 내용을 이 글을 통해소개하고 있다. 또 에큐메니칼 관점의 대안적 신학교육을 이미 가시적으로 실시하고 있는‘한국 오이코스 신학운동’을 소개함으로써 에큐메니칼 신학교육의 실질적 기능과 효과를제안하였다. 그리고 이 연구의 주요 내용들을 중심으로 한국교회에 신학교육에 대한 제언을 두 가지 측면에서 제안하였다. 즉 에큐메니칼 신학교육을 한국교회의 과제로 받아들이는 것과 그것을 기독교교육의 학문적 정체성을 확장하고 지평을 넓히기 위한 도전으로 수용할 것을 제안하였다. 21세기라는 시공간 하에서 하나님의 창조세계와 인간에 대한 사랑을 가장 구체화하고 현실화하는 길은 교회의 갱신과 에큐메니칼 관점을 지닌 주체들의 양육에서 가능하다고 보기 때문이다.
