The purpose of this study is to understand correctly the personality of the badminton players in boys' high school and to find out good players and train them effectively by developing their specific personality, because personality is a psychological condition for good players.
In order to advance the method of training players and obtain fundamental data through understanding properly the character and personality of each player, the survery covering 50 high school badminton players was conducted in three areas from December, 1983 to August, 1984.
The findings are such as:
1. When game-history differs;
Sociability is highest in the group which has more game-history, while general activity is highest in the one with less history. peculiarly, the impulsiveness placed eighth in the more game-history group is shown second in the less history group.
2. When the role differs;
Emotional stability is highest in the regular player group, while sociability is highest in the substitute player group. It is peculiar that dominance placed second in the regular player group is shown at the bottom in the substitute player one.
3. When the training-place differs;
Sociability is highest in the group training out of school, while emotional stability is highest in the one training in school. It is peculiar that impulsiveness is shown at the bottom in both groups.
