Because of traffic and environmental problems in many cities, heavy railway systems were constructed but the heavy railway system has disadvantages which are high construction cost, long construction time etc. Therefor a light railway system is considerable, which is smaller than subway system and bigger than bus. The light railway system has trans capacity about 30,000 people a hour. Nowaday the light railway system is attractive, because the system can be constructed in short time and operated automatically.
The operating cost is very much smaller than other traffic system. But until now we have no experience to construct the light railway system. We have to prepare now any part of the system like as traction motor.
In this paper will be designed, analysed and decided a traction motor for a light railway system by studies on many kind of light railway systems which are in operating now in other countries and by using a FLUX2D program package.
