노자와 피타고라스의 움직임 공간개념 연구 = The Study of Lao-tuz and Phythagoras` Movement Space Concept

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Dance is a form of art utilizing the human body, movement, time and space. Dance uses space to freely express the human`s movements. For these reasons, the study of the body, movement and space should be widely examined. From the early years, research mostly on philosophy and art has been conducted in many different fields. Despite the many studies that has been carried on, there has been neither thorough analysis on space of the dance nor the allusion of bringing the concept space into the open. Therefore, the characteristics of the concept of space is to be analyzed in reference to two of the greatest philosophers from their time , Lao-tzu and Pythagoras(6 BC), each from the East and West. The ideology of Laz-tzu`s `Tao` manifests both a systematic and dynamic feature which maintains equilibrium whereas Pythagoras stipulates nature into a number, displaying a symmetrical and vertical type of space distinction. Although the concept of space is limited to the ideas of Laz-tze and Pythagoras, it nevertheless should not mobilize empty air but should facilitate meaningful space through multifarious research. Possession of space will be a scaffold to diversity in expansion of dance analysis, dance production and dance education.
