한국의 선진화를 위한 학교다문화교육정책의 기본방향 = A Study on the Direction of Multicultural Education Policies for Jumping up Advanced Country

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is showing the direction of multicultural education policies. In korea, as society has been multiculturalized rapidly, government has been formulated and executed multicultural education policies. And academic societies discussed those issues in a variety of way. The present multicultural education policies, however, emphasize on the level of supporting for multicultural family students. And researches in this area are mainly have been focused on the investigation the actual conditions of the students and proposed the relevant policies rather than comprehensive and substantial studies. For the social integration and joining the group of the advanced countries, overcoming the threat factors from the multiculturalization of korea society, multicultural education policies should; (1) head toward multiculturalism rather than the culture assimilation polices, (2) be upgraded from the supporting polices for multicultural families to for all, and (3) develop multicultural education for respect human rights, reinforcement of the multicultural competence, and eduction of caring-oriented. For this, teachers should be reinforced multicultural competence immediately, which is compulsory requirement on the new professional development in the age of globalization and multicultural society.
