중국의 대북투자와 북한경제 = The Economic Effects of Chinese Investment in North Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is concerned with calculating the economic effects of Chinese investment in North Korea. China has announced a plan to develop its relatively undeveloped northeastern area bordering North Korea. China`s development project involves a 2 billion dollar investment overall in North Korea. The investment of China in North Korea is expected to have a very favorable effect on the North Korean economy. This study investigates the macroeconomic effects of this investment and provides new and different values of endogenous macroeconomic variables by applying the social accounting multiplier method after estimating the recent social account matrix for the North Korean economy. The results show that the Chinese investment in North Korea will increase the output, value-added and trade figures in North Korea more than expected.
