As the vibration environment of the manufacturing sites is closely related to the quality of the production, the effort to control the vibration induced by the machines such as the press has been exerted. In this study, the relationship between the isolation frequency of the press system and the two contradictory design variables as machine stability and shock force transmissibility is analyzed using the simple 2 dof lumped parameter model. The shock analysis shows that the force transmissibility to the ground is proportional to the natural isolation frequency and the displacement response is inverse proportional to the square of the natural isolation frequency. The damper using the pressurized fluid is designed and tested. The experiment shows that the vibration attenuation of the fluid damper is better than the rubber isolator while maintaining the same machine stability.
