관광버스 운전원이 지각하는 스트레스에 관한 질적 연구 = A Qualitative Study of Stress Perception Among Tourist Bus Drivers

This study is regarding the stress perceived by tourist bus drivers who work in the chartered bus industry which grows along with the development of the tourism industry. This study is necessary because tourist bus driver related studies have been insufficient thus far. Since no scale for tourist bus driver related stress has been developed, qualitative study approaches are required.
In this study, the stress perceived by the drivers was classified using interviews and the Nvivo 2 tool and was again classified based on the researcher’s subjective judgments.
The results of the study showed that the stress perceived by tourist bus drivers was largely caused by their work places, bus operation, tourists/passengers, and personal circumstances. Sub stress factors were identified to be pays, car assignment, and car conditions under their work places and fatigue, danger, and places under bus operation. Sub stress factors under tourists/passengers were shown to be tourists’ behavior and ignoring and those under personal circumstances were identified to be health, boredom, and physiological phenomena.
The contribution of this study can be presented in that this study may help reducing tourist bus drivers’ stress to improve the quality of life of the drivers and help tourists in enjoying safe tourism activities.
