In order to respond stably in a rapidly changing environment in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, it is necessary to identify the factors that strengthen the individual's creativity. This study attempted convergence research between art and management to identify factors that promote creativity in the art industry, and in particular, shows the importance of resilience based on the theory of positive psychology. In addition, the mediating effect of social capital development efforts is empirically verified.
An empirical study was conducted targeting workers in the visual arts industry. In the past, the creativity of people in the art industry was limited to the field of art or aesthetics. However, the recent development of IT has also affected the visual arts industry, resulting in a phenomenon in which creative activities and commercial business areas intersect. Therefore, it is necessary to verify the capabilities of artists based on management theory.
As a result of the empirical research analysis through the survey, it was confirmed that resilience of art industry workers had a positive effect on social capital development efforts and creativity. In particular, social capital development efforts mediated the relationship between resilience and creativity.
This study provides implications in suggesting a direction for capacity development to enhance the creativity of workers in the visual arts industry.
