This thesis is on Saju Myeongri to infer one's psychology of learning. In detail, it is the purpose of this study to identify the validity of Saju as a inference tool for learning psychology.
Human beings have curiosity and fear about what would happen during the life span. Ultimately they want to have knowledge on their future and consult a fortune-teller in order to manage more flexibly what they will face.
Humans have their own nature and when they have contact with external environments, and the nature appears as behaviors responding to the environments. Saju Myeongri is a science that tries to predict the future by inferring the source of this nature from the year, month, day, and time (which are called Saju-four pillars) when one was borne. Saju Myeongri has developed as what we called a science since the 1990s based on the scientific theory which had existed for thousands of years, and it is being established as a new paradigm with which one can enhance an index of happiness, thanks to lively conducted studies in the main stream. The Five Elements (metal, wood, water, fire, and earth) in Saju are important factors from which one can infer one's characteristics, intelligence, aptitudes, attitudes, social desires and so on. If any one of the five elements which is decided for each human when he/she is born is stronger than others, the various features listed above become shaped uniquely due to this stronger one.
This study established hypotheses taking the unbalance of power between/among the five elements into consideration, focusing on individuals' learning psychology, and conducted analysis based on the results from a self-report type survey, and then analyzed and examined whether the results coincide with the hypotheses.
In the case that there is the wood over-emphasized in one's Saju, the coincidence rate with characteristics of learning psychology by physiological desire was high as 77.3% as presented in <tableⅤ-11>. In the case that there is the fire over-emphasized in one's Saju, the coincidence rate with learning psychology by characteristics of physiological desire was high as 70.0% as presented in <tableⅤ-12>. In the case that there is the earth over-emphasized in one's Saju, the coincidence rate with learning psychology by characteristics of physiological desire was high as 69.2% as presented in <tableⅤ-13>. In the case that there is the metal over-emphasized in one's Saju, the coincidence rate with characteristics of learning psychology by physiological desire was high as 63.3% as presented in <tableⅤ-14>. In the case that there is the water over-emphasized in one's Saju, the coincidence rate with characteristics of learning psychology by physiological desire was high as 83.3% as presented in <tableⅤ-15>.
As the above results, all the hypotheses with high coincidence rates were adopted, therefore we can get the results that one can infer one's learning psychology from the unbalance of power between/among the five elements in Saju Myeongri. In light of this, Saju Myeongri was verified as a learning psychology-inference tool with validity and it will be of a help toward finding one's way proper for his/her own aptitude, by guiding and advising properly through understanding not only him/herself's psychology of learning but also the others', in modern society where life-long education is required. Therefore Saju Myeongri is a pragmatic science with which one can enhance individuals' quality of life and an index of happiness in them by creating improved social environments by increasing the quality of interpersonal relationships. We have a mandate and responsibility of pioneering the future to be happy one by grasping the strength and weakness and characteristics of our own psychology of learning using the Saju Myeongri principles.
