Ricardo Legorreta 공간에 나타나는 지역주의 표현 특성에 관한 연구 : 비판적 지역주의 관점에서 = A Study on Characteristics of Regionalism Expression in Ricardo Legorreta -on the Perspective of Critical Regionalism

The space is not only the container filling with our lives, but also it reflects current cultures and technical standards. Thus, we can find out lives of the period in the space of the past and the solution which can suggest new direction. This period faces the diverse designs based on new paradigm and high technology as the both sides of issues, globalization and locality. accordingly, I tried to study the idea and features of critical locality-by K.Frampton. who suggest new direction of spacial design from the concept of locality- as the important trend. which implys the important meaning in modern spacial design and consider Legorreta's spacial design who is well known as the representative in modern locality design.
the process of study lead the conclusion that the features of critical regionalism and main characters of local space design are a placeness, tectonics, sensation as a space language. and thus, it can be departmentalized into locality, historicity, culture, contextuality, plasticity, materiality, color, tactility, emotionality as Legorreta's space design factors. I make a standard with these 9 factors for analysis spaces and study how Legorreta express these factors on his worldwide structures. Then I wanted to find out special relations between features of critical regionalism and Legorreta's design factors.
As a result, the characters of legorreta's design never stays in Mexico, it shows complicated aspects based on diverse places in the world and various meanings of design. So I suggest this truth can be a possible way of modern design's future between local diversity and universality in these days' tendency which is losing its own identifications and being common.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

공간은 인간의 삶을 담는 그릇이면서, 그 시대의 문화와 기술 수준을 반영한다. 그렇기 때문에 공간을 통해 과거의 삶을 읽고 현대 공간디자인의 새로운 방향을 제시할 해답을 찾을 수 있다. 현 시대는 새로운 시대적 요구와 고도로 축적된 기술에 의해 다양한 양상에 디자인이 등장하고 세계화와 지역의 특수성이라는 양면적 과제에 갈등하고 있다.
이에 지역성이라는 개념에서 출발하여 공간디자인의 새로운 방향을 제시한 케네스 프램튼(K.Frampton)의 비판적 지역주의를 현대 공간디자인의 중요한 조류로서 인지하고, 멕시코의 현대 지역주의 디자인의 대표 인물로서 인정받는 레고레타의 작품을 비판적 지역주의 관점에서 고찰해보고자 하였다.
연구의 전개는 비판적 지역주의 특성과 그에 관련한 공간디자인의 중요한 특징을 장소성, 구축성, 감각성의 3가지 공간 표현 언어로 도출하였다. 그에 따른 레고레타의 공간 디자인 요소로 지역성, 역사성, 문화성, 맥락성, 조형성, 물질성, 색채성, 촉각성, 정서성으로 세분화 하였다. 이렇게 추출된 9가지 요소를 공간 분석의 틀로 삼고, 멕시코뿐만 아니라 세계적으로 폭넓게 분포하고 있는 레고레타 작품의 표현특성과 더불어 시간의 흐름에 따른 발전 과정을 고찰하였다.
그 결과 레고레타 공간 디자인이 멕시코 지역의 특수성에 머물지 않고 세계의 다양한 장소, 다양한 의미의 켜를 디자인의 바탕으로 복합적인 전개 양상을 보이고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이것은 정체성을 잃고 일반화되어가는 디자인 경향에 대해 지역의 다양성과 보편성 사이에서 현대 공간디자인이 취해야 할 가능성으로 제시하고자 한다.
