    An unwanted effect of globalization in Korea is accelerated concentration of all resources in Seoul. Korean classical literature is faced with the same problem. The disparity between Seoul and other regions is getting worse in terms of, say, art performances and academic activities.
    The local academics need to take the problem seriously. We, the local researchers of Korean classical literature, must try to lessen the disparity. We have to support the local concerts & perfor-mances related to our academic interest.
    We should pay more attention to the local characteristics of classical works. Getting more interest in the harmony with and respect for nature revealed in the Korean classical literature could be one of our contributions.
    I also suggest interdisciplinary studies for the task.(Kyungpook National University)
