국문 초록 (Abstract)

김지호의 <Traces of Consciousness> 작품은?흔적?을 통해 자연과 인간의 삶에 있어 연결성을 인식한 후 고요한 마음으로 바닷가의 사물이나 현상을 관찰하고 사진으로 표현한 것이다. 바다는 예술적 감수성을 불러일으키는 장소이다. 그곳에 남겨진 흔적들을 생명이라는 근원적인 관점으로 재인식하여 바라보고자 했다. 작업은 우리나라의 삼 해(三海)의 바닷가를 촬영했으며 자연과 인간이 만들어낸 다양한 흔적을 촬영했다.
2012년 여러 카메라를 테스트 후 Linhof 617 파노라마 카메라를 사용하여 본격적으로 작업을 시작했다. Color Reversal Film과 Black and White Print Film을 함께 사용했다. 파노라마 포맷으로 촬영된 필름을 고해상도 스캔하여 Pigment-based Inkjet Printer를 사용하여 Luster 계열의 종이에 가로 3m 세로 1m의 크기로 프린트했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this thesis work, Traces of Consciousness, Jiho Kim attempts to depict the connection between nature and human life by photographing various objects and phenomena of seashores with his mind of meditation. The seashores are specific places where Kim tends to experience some elevated emotions in him; observing the places, he finds himself perceiving the traces of nature as human life or consciousness.
For this project, he went to many spots along the coastlines of Korean peninsula during the last several years. After experimenting with several cameras, Kim used the Linhof 617 of a panoramic format together with color reversal films, and, occasionally, black and white print films as well. In the postproduction, he developed and scanned the films, and printed the large images of 3 by 1 meter on a museum grade semi-glossy paper using a pigment-based inkjet printer.
