Advances in communication networks including Internet have increased the usability of telemedicine and corresponding requirements. Since technologies associated with telemedicine have also gone through radical advances and changes, the chance for advanced telemedicine and its benefits is very high. On the other hand, the lack of interoperability in domestically developed telemedicine systems necessitate the need for systematic assessments of the performance, as well as the criteria for standard-based telemedicine systems, in a long-term strategic context. In this research, we conducted the following to ensure safety and performance evaluation: Survey and analysis of standards for data transmission between telemedicine systems, Requirement analysis of telemedicine and development of performance evaluation methods, Implementation of an integrated performance evaluation system for telemedicine systems, and testing, Development of evaluation technology for technical safety and effectiveness of telemedicine systems via wire/wireless communication, And Preparation of performance evaluation manual. The primary goal of this research is to ensure the safety and effectiveness of telemedicine systems by providing appropriate evaluation criteria and testing methods based on standards for multiple biomedical signals, patient video, medical images, and medical record sharing between physicians.
