The purpose of this study was to establish the exercise intensity with pedometer for walking. For the purpose, total 19 teens who composed of 9 boys and 10 girls participated the incremental walking test. We observed several factors including steps/min, length/step, heart rate, walking velocity, RPE, CR10 per 1 minute during maximal walking test. Moreover to predict the heart rate with steps/min, length per step, we performed the regression analysis and the results were as following; ① There was no significant difference between males and females in steps/min during walking. ② As the moderate exercise intensity, steps per minute of 60%HRmax in males was 119.50steps/min with the 85% of maximal stride, which might mean to consume about 272.4kcal/hour which was recommended for health life by Public Health. ③ The other side, in females, steps per minute as moderate exercise intensity was 112.20steps/min with over the 85% of maximal stride, which lead to consume 240kcal/hour. ④ There was no relationship between walking factors and individual characteristics including VO2max, BMI, %fat, the length of lower limb(p<.05). ⑤ The formula for presumption of heart rate was as following; males: HR = -12.304 + (1.016 × steps/min) + (0.315 × stride(cm)) : R2 70.3%, SEE = 15.36. females : HR = 25.150 + (0.979 × steps/min) - (0.078 × stride(cm)) : R2 73.5%, SEE = 15.22.
