This study examines practical measures for vulnerable returnee adoptees, focusing on the current status and challenges in supporting deported adoptees―individuals who were adopted overseas but later forcibly repatriated to Korea due to various reasons such as criminal involvement, without obtaining citizenship in their adoptive countries. The research aims to raise social awareness about deported adoptees and advocate for systematic support for them. First, the study explores the background and circumstances leading to the deportation of adoptees. Then, it reviews the Korean government’s response, including key support programs provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Center for Children’s Rights, and the Overseas Koreans Agency. Additionally, it examines the challenges surrounding the support for deported adoptees and seeks to propose improvements in the system, offering insights into fostering a healthier community through social integration.
