현대 패션에 나타난 확장형 소매의 구성 특성 분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

의복의 전체적인 형태를 결정짓는데 있어서 소매는 중요한 한 부분이다. 현대 패션에서도 소매는 의복의 조형성을 완성하는 구성요소로 작용하며, 다양한 형태로 의복의 아름다움을 완성한다. 많은 의복들에서 소매의 특정부분이나 전체를 왜곡하거나 과장하는 유형들이 나타나고 있는 것을 발견하였다. 이점에 착안하여 창의적이며 다각적 방법으로 표현되는 확장형 소매에 대한 연구의 필요성을 느끼게 되었다. 따라서 본연구는 현대 패션에서 표현되는 확장형 소매의 구성특성을 고찰 분석하여 자유로운 의복 제작의 기초 자료를 제공하고 창의적인 의복 표현에 응용하고자 함을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구는 확장형 소매에 관한 일반적인 특성을 고찰하고, 현대 컬렉션에 소개된 확장형 소매에 대한 구성 요소를 분석하고자 한다. 연구의 주된 범위는 우선현대 패션에 표현되는 확장형 소매의 유형을 살펴보고, 다음으로는 구성특성을 형태, 패턴, 그리고 제작의 관점으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 연구방법은 2012년 이후 국제 컬렉션에 소개된 의복 가운데 과장된 소매의 형태를 선별하고, 그 선별된 작품을 중심으로 구체적인 구성요소를 분석하였다. 연구의 자료는 인터넷을 이용한 국내외 정보 D/B 및 네트워크 검색, 논문과 단행본을 포함한 도서·출판물 등을 활용하였다. 그 결과 현대 패션에 나타나는 확장형 소매의 유형은 전체 확장형과 부분 확장형으로 구분되었다. 형태적 특성은 벌크형, 인크러먼트(Increment)형, 그리고 데크러먼트형(Decrement)형 나타났으며, 패턴 특성은 한 장 패턴 확장형, 수평 분리 패턴확장형, 그리고 수직 분리 확장형으로 표현되었다. 제작과정 특성은 과장된 개더나 플리츠의 활용, 과도한 패드나 조형물의 활용, 봉제 구조선의 다각화로 나타났다. 본 연구의 내용과 결과로부터 현대 패션에 표현되는 의복 구조의 특성을 이해하는데 필요한 이론을 정리하고 제시할 수 있었으며, 이를 통해 창의적인 의복개발의 정보를 제공하는 밑거름이 될 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Sleeve is an important part in determining the overall shape for clothing. In the modern fashion, the sleeve also plays a role as a structural constituent to complete the formativeness and help to finalize the beauty in clothing. Among the numerous clothes, diverse particular types were found which have either a distorted shape or an exaggerated shape in sleeve partially or wholly. With such findings, some study on expansion type sleeve seems necessary, which can be expressed creatively and variously. Thus, this work aims at providing the basics for free design and applying the production of creative clothing through examination and analysis of expansion type sleeve expressed in the modern fashion. This research reviews the general characteristics about expansion type sleeve and analyzes structural components in it. Main scope here is to look around the types of expansion sleeve realized in the modern fashion and then analyze the structural characteristics according to shape, pattern, and production process. For the research method, the exaggerated types of sleeve were selected among those introduced in the international collections since 2012. Focused on these pieces, the structural components were assessed in a specific manner. The related materials were taken from domestic and overseas database and network browse in internet and books and publications including dissertations and single volumes. In the modern fashion, expansion type sleeve was shown in two groups, whole expansion type and partial expansion type. Shape was presented in bulk type, increment type and decrement type. Pattern was expressed in single piece expansion type, horizontally separated expansion type and vertically separated expansion type. As to the characteristic in production process, many-sided characteristics were found including the adoption of exaggerated gathers and pleats, exaggerated pads or structural objects, and sewing line modification. Based on those findings, this study could organize theories available for understanding the structural nature in clothing expressed in the modern fashion and through which useful information was obtainable to develop the creative clothing.
