문화간 감수성 향상을 위한 PBL 북 아트 수업 방안 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현재 우리나라는 많은 외국인들이 국내로 유입되면서 다문화 중심 사회가 되었으며 학교에서도 다른 나라에서 온 학생들과 함께 배우는 것이 더 이상 특별한 일이 아닌 시대로 접어들었다.
이에 따라 다문화 학생을 위한 지속적인 교육정책이 운영되고 있으나 일반 학생들을 대상으로 한 다문화 이해와 감수성 향상을 위한 교육 프로그램은 여전히 부족한 실정이며 학교에서 시행되는 다문화 교육 프로그램조차도 일시적인 체험에 그치고 있다. 이렇다 보니 타문화에 대한 이해와 감수성의 부족으로 인해 다문화 학생들에 대한 차별이 빈번하게 일어나고 있다. 따라서 다문화 교육의 초점을 다문화 학생들을 대상으로 한 주류문화 교육에 한정하기보다 일반 학생들을 대상으로 다양한 문화에 대한 이해와 문화간 감수성을 향상하는 교육을 실시할 필요가 있다.
본 연구는 문화간 감수성 향상을 위해 PBL을 적용한 북 아트 수업을 초등학교 4~6학년 7명을 대상으로 진행한 후에 학생들의 문화간 감수성 향상이 얼마나 향상되었는지 알아보았다.
7차시 수업 전후로 사전·사후 인터뷰를 진행하고, 자기 평가지와 모둠 평가지를 실행하였으며, 작품 결과를 바탕으로 문화간 감수성 요인이 향상되었는지 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, PBL을 적용한 북 아트 수업이 문화간 감수성의 구성요소인 개방성, 수용성, 존중성을 향상시켰다.
둘째, 문화간 감수성 향상과 북 아트 제작에 있어 PBL이 유용하였다.
이러한 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 한 시사점은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 일반 학생들을 위한 문화간 감수성 교육은 학생 스스로 중심이 되어 타문화에 대해 이해하고 습득하는 것이 중요한데, 본 연구 결과는 다문화 교육 정책이 일반 학생들의 문화간 감수성 향상에 초점을 맞추는 방향으로 변화되어야 함을 시사한다.
둘째, PBL을 적용한 북 아트 수업 연구 결과는 일반 학생들에게 문화간 감수성 향상에 효과적인 수업이었으며 PBL을 적용한 북 아트 수업은 학습자들로부터 도출된 해결책을 다양한 결과물로 표현하기에 효과적임을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구가 실제 학교현장에서 다문화 미술교육 수업을 하는 교사들에게 도움이 되는 미술수업 방안이 될 수 있다.
이와 같이 본 연구에서 결론을 바탕으로 향후 문화간 감수성 향상을 위한 후속 연구를 기대하며 본 연구에 대한 후속 연구를 다음과 같이 제안하고자 한다.
첫째, 본 연구에서 실행한 연구 대상인 7명을 7회 수업으로 진행된 만큼, 후속 연구에서는 더 많은 연구대상을 상대로 연구가 이루어져야 한다.
둘째, 본 연구에서 실행한 연구 대상의 학년은 초등학교 4~6학년으로 후속 연구에서는 다른 연령의 학생들을 대상으로 연구가 이루어져야 한다.
셋째, 본 연구에서는 미술교육매체로 북 아트를 선정하였다. 후속 연구에서는 북 아트를 제외한 다른 미술교육매체를 PBL에 활용하여 문화간 감수성 향상을 위한 미술수업을 개발할 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

At present, Korea has become a multicultural society with many foreigners entering the country, and it is no longer special to learn with students from other countries at school.
As a result, there is a continuing education policy for multicultural students. However, education programs for improving understanding of multicultural students and sensitivity for general students are still lacking, and even multicultural education programs implemented at schools are temporary experiences. As a result, discrimination against multicultural students is frequently occurring due to lack of understanding and sensitivity of other cultures.
Therefore, the focus of multicultural education is not limited to mainstream culture education targeting multicultural students, but it is necessary to educate general students to improve their understanding of various cultures and sensitivity between cultures.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the improvement of the students' sensitivity to cross - cultural arts after conducting the book art using PBL to improve the intercultural sensitivity of 7 elementary school students.
We carried out pre and post interviews before and after the 7th class, conducted self – evaluating paper and group evaluating paper, and analyzed whether the intercultural sensitivity factors improved on the basis of the results of the work. The results of the study are as follows.
First, The Book Art with PBL improved openness, acceptability, and respect, which are components of intercultural sensitivity.
Secondly, PBL was useful in improving intercultural sensitivity and book art production.
The implications of this study are as follows.
First, the intercultural sensitivity education for general students is important for the students themselves to understand and learn about other cultures. Therefore, the results of this study suggest that multicultural education policy should be changed to focus on enhancing intercultural sensitivity among general students.
Second, the result of the study on the book art using PBL was effective for enhancing the intercultural sensitivity of the general students. It was confirmed that the book art using PBL was effective in expressing the solution derived from the learners with various results. Therefore, this study can be a teaching method of art that is helpful to teachers who are practicing multicultural art education classes at school.
A follow-up study of this study is proposed as follows.
First, as the study subjects were conducted seven times in the study, the research should be conducted on more subjects in the follow - up study.
Second, the grade of the research subjects in this study is 4th ~ 6th grades of elementary school. In the follow-up study, students of different ages should be studied
Third, in this study, book art was selected as a medium of art education. In subsequent research, it is necessary to develop art lessons to improve intercultural sensitivity by using other art education media other than book art in PBL.
