This paper discusses the stratification effects on the college-to-job transition process, or job acquisiton process after college graduation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews by students of Social Survey Practice class in 2012 and 2013, and by this author in 2013. Several paths of college-to-job transition process are identified, and the various kinds of job preparation during in college and after graduation are delineated. Stratification effects on the processes are well described, but it is emphasized that the occupational prospects and aspiration levels are much more influenced by the strata position of the students. Many people have said that they themselves have chosed their own occupational paths, and that their parents have respected their decisions, but it is my contention that the inability of the parents to properly counsel about the occupational prospects may be more important for the low level of parents’ involvement. It is suggested that some efforts are needed to enhance the students’ aspiration level.
