LCT를 활용한 미술 전시 텍스트의 특성 연구 = A Study on the Characteristics of Art Exhibition Texts Using Legitimation Code Theory

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 미술 작품과 대중을 매개하고 소통할 수 있게 하는 중요한 매개체인 ‘전시 텍스트’에 주목하여 텍스트의 의미 구조와 지식 구성의 양상을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 미술교육에서는 학습자의 문화 향유 능력을 함양하기 위하여 전시 텍스트를 읽고 쓰고 해석하는 능력, 즉 미술-언어적 자원에 보다 관심을 갖고 지원할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 먼저 전시 텍스트가 가지는 특성을 파악하고자 하였고 지식사회학 기반의 LCT (Legitimation Code Theory)에서 제시하는 전문화 코드와 의미론 코드 개념을 차용하여 대표적인 전시 텍스트로서 전시 서문과 작가 노트가 갖는 의미 구조와 지식 구성의 양상을 살펴보았다.

This study analyzes exhibition texts, specifically curatorial statements and artists’ statements, as an important genre in art education. Although the national art curriculum emphasizes museum experiences and exhibition planning, little attention has been paid to how exhibition texts are read and written in educational contexts.
Using Legitimation Code Theory (LCT) as an analytical framework, exhibition texts are analyzed at the sentence level through semantic gravity, semantic density, epistemic relations, and social relations. The findings identify four patterns of meaning construction, showing that exhibition texts function as complex linguistic genres that organize sensibility, knowledge, and identity. This study highlights their educational potential as core resources for articulating and reflecting on aesthetic experience.
