태권도 프로그램 참여가 교육가능급 정신지체아동의 운동 및 인지능력에 미치는 효과 = The Effect of Taekwondo program on Motor and Cognitive ability in Children with Educable mental retardation

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 특수학교에 재학 중인 아동들을 대상으로 태권도 프로그램 참여에 따른 운동능력 및 인지능력의 변화를 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 참가 아동 9명의 연령은 10~15세이며 주 2회 60분씩 16주간 프로그램을 진행하였다. 운동능력 검사는 Oseretsky 박사가 개발하고 Doll 박사가 표준화한 것을 김정권 등이 우리나라 아동에 적합하도록 표준화시킨 한국판 오세레츠키 운동능력 검사를 이용하였다. 인지능력 검사는 문숙희가 사용한 친숙도형 검사방법을 이용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 태권도 프로그램 참여는 정신지체 아동의 운동능력을 발달시켰다. 둘째, 프로그램 참여는 정신지체 아동의 인지능력을 발달시켰다. 결론적으로 태권도 프로그램 참여는 정신지체 아동의 운동 및 인지능력을 향상시킴으로서 그들의 삶의 질적 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있는 효과적인 방법이 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Taekwondo program on the motor and cognitive ability of children with educable mental retardation. Subjects were 10~15 yeared 9 boys and performed 60 min`s Taekwondo program twice a week for 16 weeks. All subjects executed the pre and post test in the same method by Oseretsky`s Motor Ability Test Battery corrected by Kim et al. for motor ability test and Kagan`s Matching Familiar Figures Test corrected by Moon for cognitive ability test. Following results are obtained: First, the motor ability was significantly improved in the sub-component of static coordination(p=.000), agility(p=.004), singular acting performance(p=.000). Second, the cognitive ability was significantly improved in the sub-component of wrong answer frequency(p=.000). In conclusion, the result of this study supports the effects of Taekwondo program on enhancing motor and cognitive ability of children with educable mental retardation.
