韓國 古代小說의 文學的 思想的 背景에 對한 試論

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It tends to make a brief discussion on various problems in relation to background of the ancient Korean fiction, so far not much touched, in thesis whatever had done on it, if any, was limited to setting as shown in the content of the novels and nothing on the background of the substantial composition itself. One can see no common literary concern between songs and poems and fiction, and yet the literary background is different from each other.
Confucianism did welcome this form songs and poems but illtreated it for fiction and consequently literary background for fiction was nothing worth mentioning. Results as such made fiction deformed in its development at Li-dynasty Confucian background was taken up and ever this step was but only in formality.
In fact the real situation of the popular unfortunate life of the common people became the background of the fiction. Thus resulted shows two different types of trend in one composition, the formality and the reality. The real life situations of the common people at large. One would give much credit on common peoples coming to the fare in developing of the fiction but the greater contribution made on it was the Hangeul, Korean Alphabet.
Substantially speaking, background based on the old characteristic ideas was the ancient legends which were somewhat similar to that of Greek mythology, triangular plan and at the same time with its own go straight plan of peace and love of gladness as background. As the second characteristic thought in Li-dynasty was the popular concept of Heaven Worship as background.
To a great regret, it has not been systematically developed but rather blended with much of the foreign ideas in existence. All together the ancient Korean fiction background was not of positivity but of passivity supporting as an underground background to fiction. One cannot help but regard it as a peculiar characteristic ancient Korean fiction background.
