전통-현대, 이성-감정, 초월-내재의 예전적 이분법 극복하기: Lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi, lex canendi = Overcoming Liturgical Dualisms between Tradition and Contemporaneity, between Intellect and Emotion, and between Immanence and Transcendence: Lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi, lex canendi

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 예배에서 관찰되는 세 가지 종류의 주요한 갈등들, 즉 전통과 현대, 이성과 감정, 그리고 내재와 초월 간의 갈등을 유기적으로 이해하고 이론적 해결방안을 제시하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해, 먼저 연구자는 이러한 갈등들이 야기한 문제적 현상들(전통주의와 반전통주의, 교조주의와 감상주의, 탐미주의와 반미학주의)을 탐구한다. 그 후, 연구자는 이 예전적 갈등들이 통약불가능한 것이 아니며 전체론적으로 다뤄질 수 있다고 주장한 다. 이 주장을 위해 제시된 핵심적 개념은 lex canendi(음악적-미학적 차원)이 다. 이 개념은 예술, 미학, 아름다움, 몸, 상상력, 이해, 애매함, 은유, 상징, 감 각, 감정, 정서, 느낌, 놀이, 즐거움, 자유, 현대, 대중문화, 초월성 등의 요소 들을 포함하는 일종의 범주이다. 연구자는 살펴본 갈등들의 통합적인 해결책으로 예전적 공식인 ‘lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi, lex canendi’을 제 시한다. 이 공식은 lex canendi(음악적-미학적 차원)을 의례적 차원, 신학적 차원 그리고 삶의 차원 사이의 해석학적 순환을 나타내는 기존의 예전학적 공식 ‘lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi’에 추가한 것이다. 이 연구는 확장된 예전적 공식인 ‘lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi, lex canendi’가 다음과 같은 세 가지 종류의 예전적 공존을 가능하게 함으로써 앞서 언급한 갈등들을 해결하는 유용한 도구가 될 수 있다고 주장한다. 1) 신적인 것과 인간적인 것 사이, 질서와 자유 사이, 그리고 다양한 음악적/문화적 취향들 사이의 예 전적 긴장을 함축하는 의례적 차원와 음악적 차원의 공존(lex orandi, lex canendi), 2) 몸과 정신 사이, 개념/설명과 실존/이해 사이 그리고 명백함과 애매함의 사이의 예전적 긴장들을 함축하는 신학적 차원과 음악적 차원의 공 존(lex credendi, lex canendi) 그리고 3) 현실으로부터의 예배자들의 자율성과 그들의 사회성의 사이 그리고 하나님 나라의 초월성과 그 나라의 내재성 사이의 공존을 함축하는 삶의 차원와 음악적 차원의 공존(lex vivendi, lex canendi).

This research explores and addresses three major conflicts in worship: the tensions between tradition and contemporary, intellect and emotion, and immanence and transcendence. To achieve this, the researcher first observes the problematic phenomena of the conflicts (i.e. traditionalism and contemporaryism; sentimentalism and dogmatism; and aestheticism and anti-aestheticism). The researcher posits that these liturgical conflicts are not inherently irreconcilable but can be understood and resolved through a holistic approach. Central to this approach is the concept of lex canendi (the musical-aesthetic dimension), which includes elements of art, aesthetics, beauty, body, imagination, understanding, ambiguity, metaphor, symbol, the senses, feeling, emotion, affection, play, freedom, contemporary, pop culture, and transcendence. To provide a comprehensive solution, the researcher introduces an expanded liturgical framework: "lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi, lex canendi". This framework builds on the traditional formula of "lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi", representing a reciprocal relationship among the ritual, theological, and lived dimensions of worship. The study suggests that incorporating lex canendi can help mediate and harmonise the following three coexistences: 1) the coexistence between the ritual and musical dimensions (lex orandi and lex canendi), addressing tensions between the divine and human, order and freedom, and diverse cultural and musical preferences; 2) the coexistence between the theological and musical dimensions (lex credendi and lex canendi), dealing with liturgical tensions between body and mind, concepts/explanation and existence/understanding, and clarity and ambiguity; and 3) the coexistence between the living and musical dimensions (lex vivendi and lex canendi), reconcilingliturgical tensions between worshippers' autonomy and societal influence, and between the transcendence and immanence of God's kingdom.
