사회적 의사소통장애 관한 언어재활사의 인식 및 실태 = Speech-Language Pathologists' Perceptions and Practices Regarding Social Communication Disorder

Social communicative disorders have been gaining attention recently, but in South Korea, clear statistics on prevalence rates and diagnostic criteria are lacking, resulting in inaccurate diagnosis and intervention in clinical settings. Previous studies have primarily focused on the characteristics of social communicative disorders, while research on speech-language pathologists' awareness and intervention practices regarding social communicative disorders is insufficient.
In this study, we examined the differences in the conceptualization of social communication disorders based on demographic information among 43 speech-language pathologists' working in clinical settings, using an online survey. Additionally, we explored variations in their experiences with diagnosing and evaluating social communication disorders, as well as differences in their intervention practices. Furthermore, we investigated their awareness levels of social communication disorders, current practices in diagnosis and evaluation, and the status of clinical experience and intervention practices.
The research findings are as follows:
Firstly, while speech-language pathologists' are aware of social communicative disorders, the lack of standardized assessment tools for social communicative disorders made diagnosis unclear.
Secondly, issues such as insufficient education and materials for social communicative disorder intervention, as well as difficulties in parental counseling, were identified.
The significance of this study lies in providing foundational data for reassessing speech-language pathologists' understanding of social communicative disorders and enhancing intervention capabilities in clinical settings. It aims to contribute to the improvement of effective social communicative disorder language rehabilitation services.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

사회적 의사소통장애는 최근에 주목을 받고 있지만, 국내에서는 유병률에 관한 통계나 진단기준이 명확하지 않아 임상 현장에서 정확한 진단과 중재가 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 선행 연구들은 주로 사회적 의사소통장애의 특성에 대해서만 다루고 있을 뿐, 언어재활사의 사회적 의사소통장애에 대한 인식이나 중재 실태에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다.
본 연구에서는 임상 현장에서 언어치료를 하고 있는 언어재활사 43명의 의견을 온라인 설문조사를 통해 이들의 기본 정보에 따른 사회적 의사소통장애의 개념의 차이와 사회적 의사소통장애 진단 및 평가 경험의 차이를 살펴보고 중재 경험에 대한 차이에 대해서 알아보았다. 또한 사회적 의사소통장애에 대한 인식 수준과 진단 및 평가 실태, 임상 경험과 중재 실태 현황에 대해서 알아보았다.
연구 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 언어재활사의 사회적 의사소통장애에 대해 인식하고 있으나, 사회적 의사소통장애의 표준화된 검사도구가 없어 진단이 명확하지 않았다.
둘째, 사회적 의사소통장애 중재를 위한 교육 및 자료 부족, 부모 상담의 어려움 등의 문제점이 확인되었다.
본 연구의 의의는 임상 현장에서 언어치료를 하는 언어재활사의 사회적 의사소통장애에 대한 인식 재고와 중재 역량 강화를 위한 기초 자료를 제공하며, 효과적인 사회적 의사소통장애 언어재활 서비스 향상에 기여하는 데 있다.
