Due to marine pollution, the London Convention, which entered into force in August 1975, banned dumping of waste from 2014.As a result, landfilling, which is the main treatment method for sewage and wastewater sludge, becomes impossible, requiring the development of new environmentally friendly treatment methods. As a sludge drying method, a water-in-oil drying method is used, which is a method of rapidly evaporating water by using oil having a low specific heat and a specific gravity lower than water. This method also removes water in the sludge, which has a high water content and strong caking. In this study, the pyrolysis characteristics of solid fuel prepared by oil-in-oil drying were analyzed by infrared spectroscopy.
